News :: Monstrosity at Ground Zero!

On the morning of September 11th, 2001 Ronzilla was on his way to the gym jamming with the radio cranked when they interrupted the broadcast with a special news bulletin about a plane crashing into one of the world trade center buildings. Unaware of what was actually happening at that point, Ron walked into his gym to find everyone off of their treadmills and cardio machines watching all the TV’s. While standing there the second plane entered the TV screen and what was seconds earlier a tragic accident would quickly become a “Where were you when?” life experience. “I knew once the second plane hit the other tower that we were watching history in the making.” Ron recalls, “I left the gym shortly and went directly over to Don’s house where we watched the days events unfold...it was unbelievable!” It wouldn’t be until December that Monsterus would make a presence at ‘Ground Zero’ when Don was in New York for the holidays. “I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to experience ‘Ground Zero’ firsthand to not let it pass you by.” Don mentions, “not as a spectator but as an American...and so you never forget what happened that day...I never will. Television just can’t capture the magnitude of this tragedy...plus it will give you a good healthy dose of patriotism for this great country of ours!” Shortly before in October, Don also had the opportunity to witness firsthand the devastation on the Pentagon while in Washington D.C.. Then in February, while Ron was in New York on business he made the second Monsterus visit to Ground Zero. “It was so hard to comprehend...last time I was in New York I had actually been outside on the roof of one of the towers and now everything was gone. I also saw an emotional handrawn tribute on one of the walls of the observation deck for a Police Officer named Jimmy Leahy who had been lost in the towers collapse.
