Drumming is in Ron Campbell's soul, maybe that's why he's
always known he would end up in something literally Monsterus.
With an inherent need to bang on something, Ron's pursuit
of music began early on. "At four or five, I was banging
on my mom's pots, pans and empty Folgers cans," Ron
recalls, "Seeing Peter Criss on a live broadcast only
further cemented my musical direction." By age 10, Ron
was pounding away on his first kit and by age 16, Ron had
made it into the clubs. Those he lists as influences - Tommy
Lee, Blas Elias and Ringo Starr - can be felt in his playing,
but make no mistake Ron too will undoubtedly leave his mark
on Generation X & Y.
Whether behind the kit, in the studio or on the phone keeping
the business end tied down, Ron likes to stay on top of things.
Although he enjoys the studio, Ron shines live and is looking
most forward to touring. Currently using DW Drums and Pedals,
Zildjian cymbals and Zildjian ZMC miking system, Remo drumheads
and endorsing Vic Firth sticks and the May Acoustic Drum
Miking System. Ron encourages those wanting to pursue music
as a career to "Believe in yourself. Persistence will
pay off. Follow your dreams and never, ever give up."
